Seafood processor picks Oakland

Donegal fish processor Island Seafoods has chosen Oakland International to store, pick and distribute the firm’s smoked fish products, via Oakland’s Dublin depot to two major Irish retailers.

Island Seafoods has processed various types of fish from farmed salmon and trout, to mackerel, herring, roe and prawns to the European wholesale sector for over 23 years. In the last two years they have been developing a range of smoked mackerel products for the domestic retail sector which they now have listed with a number of retailers.

Sales and marketing manager Michael O’Donnell said:  “Being a bulk supplier for over twenty years we lacked knowledge of the logistics involved in supplying retailers in Ireland. Oakland International took this into account and made supplying our retailers the easiest part of the process.”
