Qantas has entered an out of court settlement for $26.5 million to resolve its liability under a class action in the United States, subject to court approval.
The class action was brought against a number of airlines regarding the activities of their freight divisions and alleging violations of the antitrust laws.
The civil actions were initially filed in 2006 after the U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission initiated investigations of the air cargo industry.
The investigation by the EU Commission remains pending.
