Former transport minister Sir Peter Bottomley MP is BIFA’s new president succeeding Lord Fowler.
Bottomley was parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Department for Employment, roads minister in the Department of Transport and then minister for
environment and agriculture in the Northern Ireland Office in Margaret Thatcher’s government between 1984 and 1990.
And Steve Parker, head customs and brokerage Europe at DHL Global Forwarding, has become the new BIFA national chairman. Parker has worked in airfreight for 38 years. His first job was with Pandair which was bought by AEI. This was in turn acquired by Danzas, which was then acquired by DHL.
Carson McMullan of All-Route Shipping (NI), has become vice-chairman.
