Smiths said: “This business represents an excellent opportunity for Smiths News to expand the scope of its book business, Bertrams, providing instant access to new markets and an established eBook platform while adding momentum and infrastructure to support further growth opportunities internationally.”
Dawson Holdings plc came into being in August 2009 following the collapse of the Surridge Dawson newspaper distribution business. Surridge Dawson went into administration down after losing some major contracts to Smiths News. Dawson Holdings was then created out of the remaining successful businesses in the group.
