Agility and Schmidt Heilbronn, the European dry bulk chemicals logistics provider, have signed a memorandum of understanding formalising a long-term collaboration.
The two companies have been working together since 2008. Schmidt offers services in bulk polymer logistics and worked closely with Agility on the Shanghai Logistics Hub project.
The 66,000 sq m facility can receive and distribute up to 600,000 tonnes of polyolefins each year and is one of the largest hubs of its kind in China.
Neil Moon, global strategic projects director of Agility’s specialty chemicals business said: “This strategic partnership will bolster Agility’s unique ability to service the chemical industry by leveraging the highly specialized capabilities of Schmidt Heilbronn.”
Wolfgang Hoppmann, technical director of Karl Schmidt Sedition, said: “The strengthening of our collaboration comes at an important time of growing demand for highly sophisticated services in the chemical sector.”
