Pall-Ex has signed a master licence agreement opening the way to for the establishment of a pallet network in Romania.
The Pall-Ex Romania network will operate from a new hub in Sibiu, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2011. Pall-Ex reckons it will be the first pallet network in Eastern Europe.
In addition, Pall-Ex Iberia has started operations from its Madrid hub, handling some 211 pallets on the first night.
Chief executive Hilary Devey said: “The successful launch of Pall-Ex Iberia represents our second Pall-Ex network on mainland Europe. Now that businesses within the Peninsular can see the operation running smoothly, we are confident that we will revolutionise the delivery of palletised consignments in the same way that we have in the UK and in Italy.
“Further to this, our new network in Romania is a landmark phase in our ambition to build a pan-European palletised freight network to distribute small consignments across the continent cost effectively and quickly.”
Pall-Ex plans further expansions in Germany, France, Benelux, Turkey and Poland.
