Gurit, which makes composites for the marine and energy markets, has awarded Meachers a contract to handle UK warehousing for its raw materials and finished goods, following the expansion of its manufacturing arm.
Meachers will provide fulfilment from its Southampton site which has some 300,000 sq ft of racked and un-racked storage, and a stock control system that can be linked directly to clients.
Gurit’s factory at Newport on the Isle of Wight makes composites, infusion resins, structural adhesives, laminating resins for wind energy, marine, transport, ocean energy and architectural structures.
Meachers commercial director Gary Whittle said: “Any company based off the mainland will present its own set of challenges, however, Meachers is perfectly placed to handle Gurit UK’s needs.”
