FTA Ireland hires Flynn
FTA Ireland has appointed Aidan Flynn as general manager of business services, based at its Dublin offices.
Flynn is charged with developing business services within Ireland, particularly in the areas of training and tachograph services, compliance audits and health and safety. He will also be promoting the availability of Shopfta to FTAI members and the benefits of FTAI membership generally.
Flynn previously set up and developed a training and consultancy business. Prior to that, he worked as a health and safety consultant in the transport industry. He has experience across the Irish logistics industry, particularly in the delivery and management of training solutions, and has developed strong working relationships with many local transport operators as well as government and statutory bodies.
Buckley becomes director at Crown
Crown Lift Trucks has appointed Jon Buckley sales director.
He will be responsible for all aspects of sales for Crown Lift Trucks in the UK and he intends to focus on developing major account new business.
Two new senior managers at Cargoitalia
Cargoitalia has appointed Richard Mohler to the newly-created position of manager – network planning and revenue management, and also promoted Stefano Barone to its first chief representative for China and the Far East.
Mohler will be responsible for the evaluation of new routes, and then setting and achieving their revenue targets.
His career began at Swissair Cargo, and has included six years running his own aviation consultancy. He has spent 16 years in aviation, holding a wide variety of posts covering areas including revenue management, business development, aircraft evaluation, planning, capacity management, scheduling and traffic rights.
Barone’s post, based in Shanghai, involves supervising all Cargoitalia operations in the region, including setting and achieving revenue targets.
He joined Air Dolomiti in 1997, where he held various posts and was a member of the team that ultimately integrated the airline into Lufthansa. He re-joined Air Dolomiti founder Alcide Leali in 2006 to work on the project that eventually led to the purchase and relaunch of Cargoitalia.
e-procurement firm takes on Robinson and Matthews
Northumberland-based e-procurement business, Due North has recruited Norman Robinson and Gary Matthews.
Robinson has over 15 years’ experience in the IT industry, and is the new head of development.
He is responsible for managing a team of developers and will oversee the delivery of its business systems. His move to Due North follows a seven year spell with an IT business and he has expertise in project management, business analysis and software configuration.
Matthews is the company’s new e-sourcing solutions consultant. He has over 25 years’ experience in selling IT software and will be responsible for sales as well as identifying new target markets.
