British Airways has agreed a three-year contract renewal with Kuehne + Nagel to import in-flight wines to the UK.
K+N has provided BA with inbound transport of wines from Europe, Australia, South Africa and South America since 2004.
The airline has also taken on K+N to export its cabin service supplies via seafreight from the UK to a distribution centre in Chicago, and to handle some domestic overland traffic within the UK.
David Hoade, BA’s senior logistics and services manager, said: “Kuehne + Nagel has developed an in-depth knowledge of the supply chain requirements for our in-flight wine offering and, in particular, has demonstrated an understanding of our specific sea and overland transport challenges.”
