SBS hires Brown to head UK business
SBS Worldwide has hired Philip Brown to be its UK managing director.
Brown joins from NYK Logistics Europe where he was a director, and he has some 20 years experience in the logistics and freight forwarding industry. He has held senior executive positions within the Zeigler and Schenker organisations and was previously president and chief executive officer of Geologistics SpA Italy.
SBS chairman Steve Walker, said: “This completes our senior management appointments that will see our change from an A2B forwarder to a supply chain driven model, with Phil’s expertise allied with our consultative brand Virtualized Logistics leading the drive.”
New director for UPS
UPS has appointed Dr Candace Kendle as a company director.
Kendle founded a global clinical research centre, and is a founding member and past chairperson of the Association of Clinical Research Organisations.
Kendle joins the board as UPS is investing in healthcare logistics such as its new facilities in Singapore, the Netherlands, Canada, Latin America and the US.
Management appointments at Rickmers
Rickmers-Linie, part of Hamburg’s Rickmers Group, has appointed Rüdiger Gerhardt managing director and Ulrich Ulrichs deputy managing director.
Gerhardt has worked for Rickmers since 1978. He was previously director for human resources, administration and finance. His new role will also include leading logistics services.
Ulrichs has been in charge of Line Management since 2005 and has been Director of this division since 2008.
