The Fork Lift Truck Association is offering UK businesses a set of free, downloadable safety materials in support of its annual safety campaign, National Fork Lift Safety Week.

National Fork Lift Safety Week 2011 runs from 19th-25th September but the materials will remain freely available throughout September and October from www.fork-truck.org.uk

Statistics show that since the annual Safety Week began in 2008, workplace deaths caused by fork lift trucks have dropped by a massive 69 per cent.

* A hard-hitting colour poster for display in workplaces, entitled “It’s No Accident – Training Saves Lives”

* A Training Powerpoint aimed at supervisors and managers to make them aware of their legal obligations, and the best way to fulfil these

*A Safety Week 2011 logo to use in letters and literature, raising awareness of the campaign

The FLTA will also send a free Employee Safety Booklet to any UK-based company emailing to request one.

Interested businesses should email [email protected] requesting the Employee Safety Book, and providing a sender name, company name and address.

FLTA chairman Martyn Fletcher said: “A lack of full training is evident in almost every accident somewhere along the line, which is why Safety Week 2011 is targeting training on all levels – from operators to owners.”
