Prime Minister David Cameron has welcomed plans for the Waitrose Chorley RDC project which will create 600 jobs and pave the way for £1 billion investment over next three years.
Waitrose managing director Mark Price met the Prime Minister at the Conservative party conference discuss the planned £35m regional distribution centre in the North
West.
Cameron said: “The new regional distribution centre will give a boost to Chorley and the surrounding areas, not just by creating 600 jobs immediately, but in paving the way for tens of thousands more.”
The 360,000sq ft warehouse will service 100 new shops and create 10,000 new jobs over the next three years, 3,000 of them in the north.
