New demand planning system for Spicers

Office supplies distributor Spicers is replacing its demand planning software with Infor10 Demand Planning.

Spicers has more than 16,000 SKUs and 15 people with supply chain planning roles across multiple distribution centres. The software will be used to cover demand forecasting and replenishment requirements.

It will help manage changes in patterns such as increased customer demand as a result of promotional activities and improve the alignment of demand to the orders from Spicers to its supplier partners.

David Molyneux, Spicers’ director of inventory, said: “As part of our drive towards significant improvements in our demand planning processes, we have invested in a sophisticated system which has been designed with the intricacies of our business in mind.”
