Air France to cut freighter fleet

LinkedIn +

Air France is to reduce its fleet of freighters from five to four aircraft as part of a plan to boost competitiveness. And the cargo business will be fully integrated with sister companies KLM and Martinair.

The airline has set out a strategy that involves reducing its workforce by more than 5,000 by the end of 2013 – about ten per cent – but says there will be no compulsory redundancies.

KLM currently has two freighters while Martinair has 11.
