Proposals for a 200,000 sq ft warehouse for a mystery occupier have jump started the development of one of the North West’s largest employment sites, the 575 acre Omega scheme.
A detailed planning application has been submitted by the joint venture partners, Miller Developments and KUC Properties.
Once planning permission has been received, work can start on the 80-acre Omega North site, part of the wider mixed-use Omega scheme at junction 8 of the M62 motorway. These will include infrastructure works for an access road and associated services.
The cross dock property which is expected to be complete by August 2013 will have 23 dock, 25 double deck and two level access doors, and eaves height of 12m as well as 162 HGV and Trailer and 320 car parking spaces. It is expected the facility will create up to 450 jobs.
Letting agents are GVA and Jones Lang LaSalle.
