Fashion brand Hugo Boss has commissioned Knapp to supply the warehouse automation for its new distribution centre in Germany, including the largest OSR shuttle of its kind in the world.
Hugo Boss is investing nearly 100 million euros in the 251,875 sq ft. The site is in Filderstadt, just south of Stuttgart and close to the city’s airport.
The OSR has some 400,000 storage locations and allows Hugo Boss to store full cases directly.
Knapp’s ergonomic Pick-it-Easy workstations have been taken on for goods-to-person picking operatations.
The new logistics centre will go into operation in 2014.
