TNT Post has teamed up with CollectPlus, which is jointly owned by Yodel and payPoint, to offer an international parcel delivery service for SMEs.
This will allow small to medium retailers and web merchants to send their international items worldwide with TNT Post by dropping them off at the 4,800 local corner shops in the CollectPlus network.
TNT Post, the international parcel division of PostNL, is a separate operating division to TNT Post UK.
Bob van Ierland, director international parcels of TNT Post, says: “Already 30 per cent of all online cross-border trade in Europe comes from the UK. In addition, a majority of online entrepreneurs in the UK plan to expand internationally within the coming 12 months. They will need access to international shipping services around the corner.”
Mark Lewis, chief executive of CollectPlus, said: “This is a great first step to developing an integrated international offer for CollectPlus customers; it demonstrates our commitment to providing a convenient and reliable parcel service in the UK but also recognises the growing need for businesses to operate on a global scale as well as a greater demand from consumers for more choice”
The CollectPlus parcel delivery service, a joint venture between PayPoint and Yodel, enables mail order and online retailers to offer their customers the option of having their goods delivered to or returned via a participating PayPoint retailer and allows customers to send their goods via a participating PayPoint retailer.
