Meachers and Steve Porter Transport have opened a Southampton based cross-Solent consolidation centre in the second phase of a partnership to co-operate on the delivery of inbound and outbound freight from the Isle of Wight via Southampton.
The new consolidation centre is capable of receiving a wide range of freight from single pallet and groupage through to full loads. It also offers hazardous goods capability. Operating on a 24-hour basis, it will allow the alliance to offer national and regional customers both a same day and next day Isle of Wight service.
