Specialist retail logistics provider Clipper has launched its own UK ebay store, Genesis-UK.
The service has been set up to assist Clipper’s retail customers with the disposal of in season excess stock and end of season clearance lines.
The company has previously set up online fulfilment operations for high street giants such as Asda, John Lewis and Tesco and feels perfectly placed to bring this new proposition to market.
Tony Mannix, managing director of Clipper, said: “The solution via ebay adds yet another dimension to the Clipper offering- it seems like a natural progression for the company.”
Clipper is said to have seen a need within its customer base for a solution to manage excess stock and opted for a different avenue to the usual options such as television bidding shows.
All stock sold on Genesis-UK has been previously stored in a Clipper warehouse, with the majority of the items being toys and fashion items. The available stock varies according to retailer.
Genesis-UK has been named a ‘top rated seller’, a ‘platinum power-seller’ and had over 15,000 positive feedbacks since starting trade at the end of summer 2012 during a trial period selling toys and clothing.
Clipper is one of few ebay full service providers operating in this space with a service that can either be given under the retailer’s own logo or under the Genesis logo to provide a flexible alternative.
