Wincanton says its Contract Logistics business is performing “robustly”, in a trading update ahead of its preliminary results announcement in June.
Contract Logistics had secured new wins and renewals across a broad range of sectors, despite the UK market place remaining challenging. And during the final quarter, it has opened the first convenience store distribution centre for Morrisons, and a second similar operation for Sainsbury’s, both serving the London market.
Within Specialist Businesses, the Container business continued to be affected by the lower volumes in the UK container market place. However, Records Management and Pullman Fleet Services had produced good performances, growing with new customers in the healthcare sector and with existing home delivery customers, respectively.
Overall, the company said it had continued to trade in line with market expectations. It is due to release its preliminary results for the year to 31st March on 13th June.
