Panther is moving into sameday, one and a half man delivery and is opening two new branches in the North East and South West of England, as it expands to meet demand prompted by rising internet sales.
The new sites in Peterlee, County Durham, and Taunton, Somerset, will support the company’s move into same-day one and a half man delivery, which will operate alongside its existing two-man next-day delivery option operating from its site in Crick, Northamptonshire.
“Very often we take enquiries from companies looking for a service to transport large items that they want moving en masse, but which are not necessarily heavy. So they need more than a one-man service, but their requirements do not warrant a two-man service, said managing director, Colin McCarthy.
“The one and a half man service allows us to transport such items – for example doors, large mirrors or pictures.
“Together with our two-man delivery service, it gives us the chance to further penetrate the market right across England, Wales and Scotland.”
The facilities measure around 15,000 sq ft each and employ workforces of 40.
