DB Schenker has been chosen by BMW to operate a new warehouse on Japan’s main island of Honshu, hoping to create seamless distribution of spare parts and improve the overall service quality.
The new 8,179 sq m facility, the Osaka Regional Distribution Centre, is located at the southern tip of Kyoto, away from the coastline and 15 meters above sea level, which reduces the tsunami risk. It will provide all BMW dealers in the Kansai area and beyond with spare parts.
It will be managed by Schenker-Seino, a company combining DB Schenker’s global network with the infrastructure of Seino Transport, which offers transport and logistics services in Japan.
