DHL has become the 2013 British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia’s naming rights partner, expanding the company’s portfolio of rugby partnerships around the world.
The company currently supports the sport by working with local rugby teams and competitions in countries from the UK and US, to Kenya, the Netherlands, South Africa and Fiji.
It was also the official logistics partner of the Rugby World Cup in 2011 and was a partner of the 2005 DHL Lions Series in New Zealand.
John Pearson, CEO Europe and global head of commercial, DHL Express, said: “Rugby is about determination, teamwork and dedication, and these qualities resonate very strongly with DHL.
The tour begins in Perth on Wednesday 5 June and is predicted to sell 400,000 tickets to ten Lions’ games.
