Wincanton has won a five-year warehousing and distribution contract renewal with Pernod Ricard UK, which will see the supply chain specialist take responsibility of Pernod’s UK warehousing, repacking and customer delivery transport operations.
Global producer of distilled beverages, Pernod Ricard, owns premium brands such as Absolut, Jameson and Jacob’s Creek. It also sponsors worldwide sporting events, such as Formula 1 and Wimbledon.
The renewal means that the two companies will be working together for over two decades, having begun their relationship in 1995.
Wincanton will now handle in excess of seven million Pernod cases annually from its bonded Corby site in Northamptonshire.
It will be responsible for the labelling of individual bottles, the repackaging of bottles to aid pack size changes, product customisation and building point of sale display units at the facility.
Phil Corfield, operations and IT director at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “We’ve built our reputation on trust and transparency, both with our customers and business partners, and since 1995 Wincanton has consistently shown itself to be an organisation that shares these values.
“Throughout our relationship, we have welcomed the Wincanton team’s commitment to adding value and finding even more efficiencies in our supply chain through use of the latest technologies and processes.”
