The UK arm of DB Schenker Logistics, Schenker Limited, has expanded its fleet by adding 43 additional trucks to two of its main hubs at Nuneaton and Basildon, as part of its new investment programme.
The new vehicles will support the company’s domestic collection and deliveries within the Midlands and South East areas of the country.
The majority of the additions will be 7.5 tonne vehicles which will be used in congested areas, allowing more flexibility to serve customers who have restricted access problems.
Helgi Ingolfsson, chief executive officer of Schenker, said: “This one of many initiatives is all part of the company’s strategy to increase our brand awareness within the UK.
“It is of paramount importance that we have enough capacity to meet our customer’s needs, and also to support the ambitious growth plans we have.”
