Speed Welshpool is investing £150,000 in a new, purpose built depot on a 3.5 acre brownfield site at Buttington Quarry just outside Welshpool.
The site will have storage buildings capable of housing 2,000 pallets and offering 40,000 sq ft of warehousing for local businesses.
Speed Welshpool, which is a member of Palletways, plans to introduce a number of new services, including bespoke logistics/pick & pack and UK groupage.
Managing director Phil Edwards said: “The development of this new depot will enable us to greatly enhance the efficiency and capacity of our distribution service, enabling us to provide an improved service to businesses across Mid-Wales and Shropshire”.
“As part of the Palletways network, the new facilities will enable us to collect consignments from local businesses later in the day, while still offering next day delivery across Europe, getting their goods to market faster than ever before”.
