Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, which was opened to the public last month has taken on as it’s pallet partner.

Ten thousand APB 1210 pool pallets from are being used to transport duty free goods, arriving from all over the world, from the airport’s cargo warehouse to the duty free warehouse, where products are barcoded and stored in the warehouse’s 11,575-bay racking systems, until they are required for display.

Anu Sondhi, general manager for Qatar’s largest warehouse equipment company Rumaillah Warehouse Equipment W.L.L., said: “The pool pallet they recommended had proven performance in racking and automated systems and a long life expectancy, which perfectly matched our requirements. Due to the variety of different packaging involved, recommended that we take the option of adding four anti-slip strips to the pallets to make them even more versatile.

“This was a hugely important project for us, on a gigantic scale; the new airport will eventually occupy 29 sq km , roughly a third of the size of Doha itself, and have an annual capacity of 50 million passengers.”
