Norbert Dentressangle has completed its £452m ($750m) takeover of US logistics group Jacobson.
Jacobson is based in Des Moines, Iowa and has an annual revenue of some £482m ($800m) in 2013, 9.5 per cent EBITDA margin and 5,500 employees.
The deal will increase Dentressangle’s global sales by 15 per cent increase to £3.97 billion (€5bn). It means the US will become Dentressangle’s third largest market after France and the UK.
Dentressangle CEO Hervé Montjotin said: “The closing of this acquisition will enable us to begin integrating Jacobson into the Norbert Dentressangle Group and to begin this new step in our development in the U.S., a strategic market for us. ”
The acquisition is financed through a combination of Norbert Dentressangle reserves and available credit lines.
