Lanarkshire-based West of Scotland Group has taken delivery of a 550bhp FH16 Volvo tractor unit for use on heavy haulage contracts.
The 8×4 artic has been converted from a 6×4 by North East Truck & Van who also fitted the George Fischer sliding fifth wheel. West of Scotland Group has specified the truck with a Globetrotter XL cab in ‘Prestige’ trim with full leather trim and seats, fridge, microwave and CD/radio player. Plated at 150 tonnes GCW, the truck also has a 14-speed Volvo manual gearbox and twin exhausts.
Based at the company’s Coatbridge headquarters, the FH16 will operate all across the UK with a variety of modular low loader trailers transporting contractor’s plant equipment and wind turbines for wind farms.
