An intrepid explorer has spent 24 hours in Yearsley Cold Storage and Distribution’s cold store in Seaham, County Durham.
Yearsley agreed to donate £1,000 to Cancer Research UK after Dale McKenzie, who is entered in the Ice Warrior Expedition, endured an uncomfortable night in the -25°C cold store, in preparation for his trek to the Geomagnetic North Pole.
John Ainsley, general manager at Yearsley Group’s Seaham Cold Store, said “When we first received Dale’s request to sleep in our cold store we thought he was mad, but following his heroic exploits we decided to give a donation to Cancer Research UK”
Both UK teams, successfully completed their expeditions reaching the Geomagnetic North Pole, which is situated on the Darling Peninsula in Canada’s North-eastern Arctic Region.
