NYK Logistics has won a further contract with Land Rover, to manage the supply of components to point of fit, on the Defender and Range Rover production lines at Solihull.
Having successfully implemented an inbound supply chain operation for all Land Rover models and an internal logistics operation to feed the Range Rover Sport and Land Rover Discovery production lines, NYK says that the new contract represents a significant extension to the scope of its activities within the plant and the next phase in the development of PAG and NYK’s strategic partnership.
The Range Rover operation is scheduled to go live later in the year, NYK will ultimately employ almost 200 people across the two new operations.
