Corus has opened a new rail link connecting the Teeside Cast Products facility and the Steel Export Terminal at Teesport.
The new rail link is part of the 10 year Productivity Partnership between Corus and PD Ports, aiming to streamline the export of steel slab.
In the last nine months, Corus has invested £2 million in the new rail link and wagons.
Jon Bolton, managing director of Teesside Cast Products said: “By working together we have already achieved a great deal, and this year we will ship more than we thought previously possible from Teesport.”
