So you think you know how to run a warehouse efficiently, think you know all there is to know about organising effective goods management, transport, shipment etc?
But could you manage a warehouse operation in a disaster zone at the same time as; administer first aid, evacuate casualties and ultimately save people’s lives?
The British Red Cross has launched The Disaster Response Challenge, a unique two-day event on the 15 – 17 September 2006, that promises to test participants to their core. The event provides an opportunity to experience first hand the decisions that the British Red Cross Emergency Response Unit faces everyday.
Built around a roleplay-style real-time hypothetical disaster, the challenge asks entrants to develop a ‘Disaster Response Plan’.
Taken out of your comfort zone, you will be plunged into an environment where everyday decisions become would be a matter of life and death.
Other issues covered on the event include; logistics, communications, first aid, casualty evacuation and delegate security.
