Lafarge Cement has renewed its £22m distribution contract with Turners. The new three year contract was signed after an 18 month tender and has an option to renew for a further three.
Mike Cowell, Lafarge’s UK supply and distribution director, said: “We already have a strong working relationship with Turners – built up over the last six years, so were delighted that through the tendering process, the company again stood out as the one for us to work with.”
Last year, Lafarge invested over £7 million in renewing its fleet of tractors and tankers. Cowell says: “With a combination of our brand new fleet, this new partnership with Turners and our unique truck, track and trace system, customers can rely on us for the excellent delivery service they expect.”
Paul Day, Turners managing director, said: “Lafarge Cement’s business is our single largest contract, so they have always been one of our key partners in the UK.”
