Freightliner has signed a new five-year deal with Maersk Line. Freightliner reckons it’s the biggest intermodal rail contract in the UK to date.
It consolidates the two previous contracts between Freightliner, Maersk Sealand and P&O Nedlloyd, which were in place prior to the acquisition of P&O Nedlloyd by Maersk Sealand last year.
The contract will result in Freightliner making some 353 round-trip wagon movements a day, exclusively for the transport of Maersk containers.
