Plans to build a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import facility on Teesside have been approved.
PD Ports and Excelerate Energy’s plans include building the ‘Teesside GasPort facility’ which will allow Excelerate Energy’s specially equipped vessels, to dock at Teesport and deliver pipeline pressure natural gas for distribution throughout the UK.
Construction of the new GasPort is targeted for completion in December 2006 with the first LNG ships arriving at Teesport early in the New Year.
