DHL Exel Supply Chain has won a new seven-year contract with O’Neill Europe, the manufacturer and retailer of the surf, snow and lifestyle brand.
From March 2007, DHL will handle all distribution requirements for stores in The Netherlands, Belgium and France from Willebroek, Belgium. It is estimated that the deal, which was signed for an undisclosed amount, will create between 30 and 40 new jobs in the region.
Hugo van den Tillaart european logistics manager at O’Neill Europe, said: “We’re always looking for ways to make our business more efficient and profitable, and appointing DHL to handle our global logistics and supply chain demands is a great step forward,”
“While our existing supply chain has always performed well, we believe that DHL’s strong and permanent presence in the Far East – home to many of our suppliers – is perfectly suited to our business needs as a growing global player. In addition, our decision to appoint a single logistics partner will play a crucial role in shortening lead times to market and increasing logistics and supply chain accountability.”
