Gefco UK has been contracted by Ficosa, the automotive systems and components manufacturer, to transfer parts on a weekly basis from European production sites in France, Spain and Slovenia to its logistics warehouse in Coventry.
Gefco will receive, scan on receipt into stock and decant the parts into customer-specific line-side modules and bespoke stillages. Ficosa’s customers, which include Jaguar, Peugeot and Nissan, will benefit from same-day dispatch of parts from Gefco’s central warehouse.
Ficosa’s logistics director Jose Manuel Garcia Pandiello said: “We were reassured by the extensive experience Gefco has with similar suppliers and their professional operations.”
