Thomson beats the delivery blues

Thomson Directories has streamlined its delivery process with help from GeoConcept, a software package from MapMechanics.

Thomson operates a door-to-door distribution of its blue telephone directory but needed a more standardised way of doing it.

It says that distributing directories is a year-round task. The task is handled area by area and takes around a month to complete.

Thomson says that planning efficient and economical routes for the delivery teams is a considerable challenge.
