Amazon has announced that it set to bring approximately 80 new jobs to Mill Hill when a new delivery station opens its doors in October.
The 100,000ft² site is based in Pentavia Retail Park and will serve customers across the Barnet area.
Amazon reported that the site will also create hundreds of additional driver opportunities through Amazon’s delivery service partners and Amazon Flex network.
To this end, it’s one of several new sites being built by 2027 as part of Amazon’s £40 billion UK investment plan, estimated to contribute an additional £38bn to UK GDP.
Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon’s order process and help speed up deliveries for customers. Packages are shipped to these sites from neighbouring Amazon fulfilment and sortation centres, loaded into delivery vehicles and taken to customers’ doors.
Amazon Logistics country director Prajvin Prakash said: “We’re excited to be investing in this area with a new delivery station that will create permanent roles for the local workforce here, and help us deliver even faster for customers.”
