CM Downton, part of EV Cargo, has won four new contract extensions across the paper, cardboard, and sustainable packaging industries.

Gloucestershire-based Downton, now part of EV Cargo’s Logistics division, has sealed distribution agreements with Saica Pack, Stora Enso, and SCA.

Continuing its contract with Saica Pack, Downton will deliver paper reels to the Newport-based manufacturing plant and distribute finished corrugated packaging to Saica Pack’s mainly FMCG customers.

For Stora Enso, Downton will transport paper reels from the Port of Tilbury to customers in the newsprint, magazine, and packaging industries.

And for its other paper delivery extension, Downton will be working with SCA to deliver paper reels from the Port of Sheerness to packaging manufacturers nationwide.

CM Downton has also extended its partnership with toy manufacturer Mattel following a competitive tender, and will carry out natural distribution on its behalf to retailers from the Mattel distribution centre in Leicester.

Zac Brown, managing director at CM Downton, said: “Downton is renowned for building long-term customer relationships by focusing on quality and efficient solutions. Building on that reputation, and in line with EV Cargo’s strategy for growth, we’ve been successful in securing these key contract extensions.

“Not only do they reinforce our expertise in the paper and packaging sector, but the regional spread integrates well with current network flows to optimise national operations, drive efficiencies, add customer value and reduce waste.”
