US apparel company Cutter & Buck has opened a new automated distribution centre in Grand Prairie, Texas.
The facility, which officially opened on 9 October 2026, forms part of Cutter & Buck’s expansion of its North American fulfilment network.
The new system comprises 50,502 storage bins, 32 AutoStore R5 Pro robots and 13 ports, with Kardex FulfillX warehouse execution software coordinating automated storage and fulfilment operations.
It has been designed to achieve 1,256 bin presentations per hour, with simulations averaging 1,284 presentations per hour.
Kardex has also integrated a conveyor system connecting the AutoStore with downstream operations, including embroidery, routing, print-and-apply labelling and shipping. The system supports Cutter & Buck’s fulfilment of both undecorated and customised apparel orders.
Joel Freet, CEO of Cutter & Buck, said: “Our experience in Renton gave us a clear understanding of what automation can make possible for our operation and our customers. With Kardex, we’ve been able to take what we’ve learned and apply it to a new facility designed around where our business is going next.”
The company’s first AutoStore system in Renton, Washington, became operational in July 2023 with more than 34,000 storage bins and 54 robots. It was subsequently expanded with an additional 9,962 bins and further picking ports to accommodate growing order volumes and product ranges.
According to Kardex, the Grand Prairie system has been designed to allow robots and ports to be added independently as demand increases.
