Freight forwarder Davies Turner has launched a seasonal full container load (FCL) shipping service between China and the UK.
Operating via the Northern Sea Route, the service offers a 21-day transit from Ningbo to Felixstowe.
The service will operate as an eight-week sailing programme during the Arctic shipping season from August to October 2026, operated by Sea Legend.
Davies Turner will consolidate cargo from six Chinese ports – Dalian, Fuzhou, Nansha, Qingdao, Shanghai and Taicang – at Ningbo before containers are shipped directly to Felixstowe. From there, cargo can be distributed across the UK and Europe through the company’s logistics network.
The route avoids the conventional Far East-Europe shipping corridors through the Suez Canal or around the Cape of Good Hope.
Tony Cole, head of ocean at Davies Turner, said: “The Polar Silk Road provides an excellent solution for time-sensitive shipments that need to arrive faster than conventional ocean freight but without the higher costs associated with air transport.”
