DHL Globalmail has announced that services will be temporarily suspended for shipments containing goods to the EU from 24 June 2026
The suspension is from the United Kingdom (UK) to EU countries due to the European Union’s (EU) new customs regulations.
The EU had previously announced that it is scrapping Customs duty exemption on parcels valued at under €150 (c. £130) as of July 1.
Reportedly, the exemption will be replaced with a new flat-rate tariff of €3 (c. £2.60) per item, thus the flat Customs duty will apply to Business to Consumer (B2C) parcels under €150 (c. £130) entering the EU.
DHL Globalmail service is currently unable to support this process because it does not have a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) solution, under which the fees would be covered by the seller – as reported by Channel X.
As such, all low value parcels will be suspended as of Wednesday, June 24. The final collection day will be Tuesday, June 23.
With the flat fee a temporary regime scheduled to apply until 1 July 2028, pending implementation of the future EU Customs Data Hub and broader customs reforms, DHL Globalmail has yet to report how long its suspension will last.
