DPD UK announced that it is set to take delivery of 341 Mercedes-Benz eSprinters, taking its electric vehicle fleet to more than 4,000 vehicles.
The vans will begin entering service in September, with all expected to be operational by the end of October.
They will be deployed within the M25 and at locations across the UK, providing additional capacity ahead of the Christmas peak.
DPD said it delivered more than 85 million parcels using electric vehicles in 2025, while its EV fleet currently operates across more than 7,300 UK postcodes.
Olly Craughan, head of sustainability at DPD UK, said: “Large panel vans are the workhorse of our final mile operation so the new eSprinters will give us the capability we need to support far more lower emission deliveries over a wider area.
“The eSprinters can carry the same payload as the equivalent 3.5t Diesel while the new battery technology and improved range mean more of our depots can start deploying larger EVs further afield.”
The vehicles will be covered by Mercedes-Benz CompleteCare repair and maintenance support.
Fleet electrification, charging infrastructure and the operational challenges of zero-emission last-mile delivery will be among the issues explored at Urban Logistics.
