FedEx has opened a new logistics centre in Košice, Slovakia, responding to growing demand from Slovak businesses aiming to expand internationally.
The Košice facility, the second-largest FedEx location in the country, covers nearly 1,000m² (c. 10,763ft²) and features 18 PUD (pick-up and delivery) docks, along with four flexible loading positions that can accommodate both vans and long-haul trucks.
“Košice represents another major step forward for FedEx and its customers in Slovakia,” said FedEx Eastern Europe and the Nordics managing director of ground operations Nebojša Vasiljević said.
“Whether you’re a large manufacturer serving international markets or a small business taking your first steps into exporting, reliable logistics can make all the difference.
“By expanding our network while enhancing our services, we can better support established exporters and make international shipping more accessible to smaller businesses looking to grow.”
According to a recent FedEx survey, 85% of Slovak SMEs already trading internationally plan to expand into additional markets.
This places Slovakia among the most internationally ambitious SME markets in Central and Eastern Europe, alongside Poland.
