Third-party logistics provider GXO has deployed 127 robots at its Venlo facility in the Netherlands to support fashion retailer Guess’s fulfilment operations across EMEA and Asia.
GXO manages inbound logistics, quality control, garment conditioning and outbound distribution for Guess at the site.
The system comprises 127 Exotec Skypod robots, 60,000 rack locations, eight goods-to-person picking stations and 200m of conveyor. It can process up to 70,000 items per day and can achieve throughput of up to 2,200 order lines per hour during peak periods.
Exotec coordinated the integration and deployment of the system at the facility.
Reportedly, the automation has been designed to accommodate the high number of SKUs and seasonal fluctuations associated with fashion logistics.
