Third-party logistics provider GXO Logistics has opened a new logistics hub in Medini, Malaysia, expanding its contract logistics operations in Asia Pacific.
Located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the facility benefits from Free Trade Zone (FTZ) status and access to major manufacturing centres, ports and airports across the region.
The hub is designed to support customers in the technology and advanced industrial sectors and is already operating as a regional logistics hub for a global supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
According to GXO, the location will enable customers to optimise inventory positioning, strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce operating costs.
GXO chief executive officer of the Americas and Asia Pacific Michael Jacobs said: “Asia Pacific continues to be one of the most dynamic growth markets for GXO.
“The opening of our Medini facility reflects our commitment to bringing world-class logistics solutions to high-growth markets. From its strategic location within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, the site will offer customers greater flexibility, resilience and speed while connecting them with some of the region’s most important manufacturing, technology and trade hubs.”
GXO is also evaluating additional capabilities at the facility, including warehouse technologies intended to improve supply chain visibility and customer collaboration.
