Logistics company Kuehne+Nagel announced it has entered into a long-term strategic collaboration with Amazon that includes support for Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The agreement, which builds on an existing relationship, is intended to support Amazon’s future growth and strengthen its global supply chain operations.
For AWS, Kuehne+Nagel’s role will cover infrastructure throughout its lifecycle, including construction, equipment deployment, maintenance, upgrades and expansion projects.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen supply chain resilience, scalability and operational efficiency as Amazon expands its cloud infrastructure globally.
Stefan Paul, CEO of Kuehne+Nagel International, said: “Kuehne+Nagel’s global network, digital capabilities and supply chain expertise are well positioned to support Amazon’s evolving business needs, enabling us to accelerate future growth opportunities and create lasting value for our customers.”
The collaboration includes a call option on existing Kuehne+Nagel shares, with vesting linked to commercial milestones and services delivered over a period of up to seven years.
The option can be settled in cash or, at Amazon’s election, in Kuehne+Nagel shares.
Kuehne+Nagel said it has arranged for a third-party financial institution to engage in hedging transactions to support the arrangement.
