South Korea-based logistics provider LX Pantos has completed a 109,000m² (1.17 million ft²) logistics centre in Katowice, Poland, as the company expands its logistics network in Eastern Europe.
The facility comprises five buildings and was jointly acquired with the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) and the PIS No. 2 Fund, a policy fund under South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The acquisition was valued at approximately €140 million (c. £119m). It was supported by financing from Korea Ocean Business Corporation.
Located in Upper Silesia, the logistics centre has access to road, rail and air connections and sits on transport corridors linking Poland with Germany, Ukraine and northern and southern Europe.
LX Pantos plans to use the site as a hub for its Eastern European logistics operations, supporting customers in sectors including automotive parts, consumer goods and home appliances.
The company said the facility will also support Korean businesses expanding into the European market and help meet growing logistics demand across Eastern Europe and neighbouring regions.
